On your mark, get set, GO!!!~IT STARTED

Salam~

Well, obviously, the individual presentation has started...Guess what? I’M THE FIRST PRESENTER!!!!!..

At first, definitely, I’m seriously nervous!!!Who wouldn't be nervous right? But, as I get 'blend' with the presentation, after 3 or 4 slides, I’m becoming more comfortable and did my very best to provide the audience with the information.
I think I’ve done my best, so, whatever the results will be, I’ve just can pray to God. I would like to thanks Miss Dila and my friends for helping me a lot in completing the assignment.
The presentation took 3 weeks to finish. Here is the list of the title of everyone’s (most of the class member, if not everyone) presentation...

Afnan -kidney cancer
Ali -bowel cancer
Ammar -dimentia
Anis-typhoid fever
Bad-malaria
Hafiz Nazri-glaucoma
Husna -gout
Huzaifah -diabetes mellitus
Najah –spinocerebellar ataxia
Naufal -trisomy 18
Syahir -h1n1 type a
Syiham-hodgkin’s lymphoma
Yah -eczema
Zie -hemangioma
Zubair -insomnia
Rasul-hypertension
Herman-kidney failure
Muiz- meningitis

Well, in my opinion, everyone had done their best. So, just hope for the best.
I think this will be my last post. I really had a wonderful time in English class. Maybe because it’s not a heavy subject? hi2...of course not. To me, for non heavy subject, it could be very boring if the execution is not right. So, it’s time to say goodbye, whether we’re ready or not...
THANKS a million to Miss Dila for the wonderful lectures,
THANKS a lot to my classmate for making this such an enjoyable journey.
May all of us live in happiness~Insyaallah~

This is my last quotes~

Just for Today

I will live through the next 12 hours and try not to tackle all of life's problems at once.

I will improve my mind, I will learn something that requires effort and concentration.

I will be agreeable. I will look my best, speak in a well modulated voice, and be courteous and considerate.

I will not find fault with a friend, relative or colleague. I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.

I will have a programme. I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two enemies:
hurry and indecision.

I will do a good turn and keep it a secret. If anyone finds out, it will not count.

I will do two things I don't want to do, just for the exercise.

I will believe in myself. I will give my best to the world and feel confident that the world will give it's best to me.

THE ROLE PLAY!!!!!
Everyone was nervous while waiting for Miss Dila to come. When she finally come, she brought a video camera with her,and I thought, this is big, really big.so,after all the setup was finished, roll, camera,ACTION!!!
The first group was Nazirah and Husna.Being the first group didn’t bring much advantage. I think both of them were just nervous. But,having said that, personally,I think we all had make it. For my own role play, I’m glad that everything’s going just ok,despite that I’m not confident that I’ll do it in more than 10 minutes, but, honestly, the ‘fainting scene’ help me a lot.Hereby,I would like to thank Hazirah and Yah for helping me during the role play and, not to forget, to my other classmates also. You guys are awesome!!
It’s really a relief that the role play has ended. So,now,I can focus on my individual presentation.Hopefully, all of us will really nailed it~~
Wasalam~

Today is very important for us as we all had the chance to practise for the upcoming role play.Luckily,Miss Dila was kind enough to check our script beforehand so that we don’t have to worry about it anymore and that’ll help us a lot in acquiring marks. Basically, there’s not much to write about as today is all about practice..ahhh..Before I forget...Miss Dila also ‘warning’ us on the thing that we must considered in doing the role play...As for me, I ‘m really worried today because after the practise,i found out that my scripts isn’t long enough...But,Alhamdulillah,I manage to make an appropriate script that fulfilled the requirements of the role play.

We meet again...

Today, we manage to cover 2 lessons...
-We need a psychiatric evaluation.
-It might be multiple sclerosis.

Basically, we learned about passive voice. The concept is simple-(subject+verb to be+past participle+be)...We also gained lots more information on the case of Mr.Bloom and found out that he might be suffered from multiple sclerosis.

If think you can't, you're right. If think you can, you're right.

hello..we meet again
today,we've moved to unit 3:breaking bad news....

we manage to cover 3 lesson today which is;
-can you describe the pain
we learned a little bit on what type of questions a doctor should ask the patient when he wants to gain information about the patient's pain. The 3 points that should be applied are; features of pain, main questions, and follow-up questions. Other than that, we learned about how to differentiate between intensity of pain and character of pain.

-It's how you say it
I've managed to glean a few details on how a pronunciation can change the meaning of some phrases. Here,we learned a communication tip, which stated, “the old saying, “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it is especially true in the medical field. A small change in a health care provider's intonation can completely change a patient’s attitude and cooperation.
-it's getting you down isn't it
We learned on how and where to use formal language and informal (non-technical speech).Other than that, we also learned on how the pronunciation of question tags can make a difference between asking a question, or, asking for confirmation.

LET ME EXPLAIN YOUR DIET

salam~

today's lesson,is obviously,about diet..basically,we're focusing on a diabetic's patient diet..there's two important principle regarding this matter;

i)keep your blood sugar at a steady level
ii)eat a balanced diet

other than that,we also learned that there are some way ways that a diabetic's patient can still enjoy their meal although he's having that kind of disease..the important thing is that,he can regulate his meal, that means,he can still eat carbohydrates, but,in a correct proportions..

there's a communication tip that we learned today,that is;

'patients usually do not remember everything that were told.one way to help them to remember id to repeat and summarize what you say at the end of the consultation.Another way is to have the patients themselves do this repetition and summary.

last but not least,we figured out some good practice in working under pressure..

i think that's all..

I'D LIKE TO EXAMINE YOU~

salam~

today, we learned about the appropriate phrases to use when a doctor want to examine his patients..basically,these phrases are used to make the patients comfortable, and give them the feeling of security...in other words,we don't want the patients to feel that the doctor wants to hurt them..

For example, when a doctor is requesting the patient to do something,he should use phrases like 'would you','could you' and end it up with 'please'..Other than that, when he's trying to explain a procedure,he may use phrases like 'I am just going to' or 'I'd just like to'..

On the other hand,we also learned about how to do a summary of a case using medical language..For this part,we (in a group) had to present a case using appropriate medical terms..

So,that's for today's lesson..

4th of june

salam~~
so,what can i do for you??when did the problem begin??

today's lesson I'll describe it as,EXCITING!!
basically, what we learn today is how to take a medical history..it's so exciting that I felt the feeling of being a doctor [just a little though =) ]..before this,I never give a thought on the guideline for a doctor to take a medical history..so,now i
know, and i like this feeling..briefly,three major things that we should applied is that we must asked
open ended question,no such thing as leading question and lastly, logically, take notes as we're
interviewing the patient..
well, that's the main topic for today lesson..during class,we did lots of exercises and also we did a
role play..the role play is the best part,,i think..
I'm looking forward for next class,as we've move it to nine o'clock..yeay!!!
i think that's all..goodbye~~

today's quote(it's a little short though);
~BE YOURSELF,EVERYONE ELSE IS ALREADY TAKEN~

3rd june

3rd of June-presentation day~~~~

salam..

today's class is a four hour period..that's not the point..the main point is.....today is the presentation day!!!(I've done presentation before, but,i feel nervous because as a university student, definitely the standard is much more higher right??)...

well..our task is to find out from other culture/countries the belief in other deities..my group had chosen to present about 'the sangoma',which we take from the African culture..

the other group chose yoga (Indian culture),acupuncture(Chinese culture),tai chi(Chinese culture),and also murder medicine(African culture)..i noticed that we have 2 Indian culture,2 Chinese culture and also 2 African culture..very coincidence right?

well,in my opinion,i do messed up little things in my presentation (not as a group),but,I'll improved better (hopefully *__*)..about the other group,i think they were all quit good, like what miss dila said..

my personnel thoughts,I'm interested in murder medicine the most..i think because apart from the others, this is a new thing to me..nevertheless,i also gained much more info about other topics too..seriously..

so,i end it here..goodbye =)

28th may

2nd class...

miss dila in pink today!! =)

today's topic; medical abbreviation ..

we got a list of medical abbreviation..a lot..seriously!! ;)

basically,we just go through the list and while doing that,we also learn new words related to medical field such as;femoral, obstetrics, murmur and etc etc....the lesson seems easy, but,we've to be familiar with all that stuff..it can be confusing also because there's a lot and the abbreviations seem similar..but,we're learning..that's the main thing..

the lesson finished early,so,we have extra time and we decided to do our group discussion for next week presentation..I'm in a group of five (me,imah, zie, anis and bad)..we're all happy that the group members can get along well and hopefully our presentation we'll be a success..insyaallah~

=)

27th may

hello everyone,especially miss dila..

since this is my first entry,I'm not quite sure how to start..so,i go straight to the point..

today's English class..

it started well..I'm surprised that our lecturer is really young..I'm not expected that..then we're doing some sort of 'introduce each other' session..so,we were asked to stand at the side of the class..this is really helpful because at that time I'm feeling quite sleepy ;) (I'm being really honest here)..we were asked to tell the usual stuff,(name, former school, where you come from) but then,we have to add one more thing..our special characteristics..i dunno why i tell my classmate that I'm a confident person..but,personally,i think that my best quality is that i take criticism positively..then,after we finished with that session,we start the class officially..for the first day,we just learn about some medical terms that us,as a medical student should be used rather than using the lay terms..we all have to pronounce the words out loud (although it's quite elementary, like what miss dila said, but, that's the way to learn)..I've pronounce two words wrongly..hi3
the lesson today seems really really easy, but, the reality is,a lot of practice should be done..i mean,we have to keep pronouncing the words for us to be familiar with them..

before i end,i have to add this up..I'm really surprised that miss dila came from the same school with me..well,in this batch, there's no student from SMKBBB except me..so,it's really unexpected to actually meet a lecturer who is a former student of SMKBBB..well,I'll end it here..I'm running out of ideas now ,seriously!=D
